Russia and the Romanovs pg3 by ItaLuv Russia and the Romanovs pg3 by ItaLuv

pg 4: [link]

The Romanovs were quickly informed that their family had failed in attempting to rescue them, and that they were to be executed.

Tsar Nicholas only managed to utter "What?" before being shot through the head.

Tsaritsa Alexandra began to make the sign of the cross, but was shot before completing it.

Grand Duchess Olga also attempted to make a cross, but was shot in the head.

Grand Duchess Tatiana was shot through the back of the head.

Tsarevich Alexei was shot twice behind the ear.

The shots aimed at Grand Duchesses Maria and Anastasia ricocheted off of their corsets, which were lined with royal jewels smuggled out of the palace. They both cowered against a wall as Maria was cut down by bullets and Anastasia was stabbed to death with bayonets.

Свердло́в ("Sverdlov") is the name of the man who ordered the execution. I guess what Ivan's holding are the official papers or something...?

Malenkaya="little one" (one of Anastasia's many nicknames)

It may seem slightly redeeming that he's apologizing in the last panel. But really, he's getting ready to stab her to death instead of taking the less painful alternative of a shot to the head. So yeah, it's not redeeming at all.
I know I'm horrible for coming up with this stuff.

Done with sharpie, ballpoint pen, and BIC ultra fine point permanent marker.

It is interesting representation of that night.  Though when the big speech was said Nicholas was the only person to be mentioned and sentenced to death in the letter.   Also  the jewels were not discovered until the bodies were moved from the mine shaft to the bog pit.  After the killers had stripped the bodies.

So,there go my heart...Why!!! But I think Russia did held a special feeling toward Anastasia and if he indeed the man to killed the hold Romanov family, after that he might turn really feel depression...

I think ~TheAnimangaGirl nailed it, and that this is about when Russia finally snapped, the end of a fairly happy time of his life.

No he was most likely a serf at that time he was under an autocracy so it probably wasn't really happy for him.

Technically speaking, serfdom was abolished in Russia in 1861, but all the same, I see your reply to my headcanon and respect your opinion. Please let me have mine.

Well what I mean was ((I'm simply putting some input about the subject) Just because Serfdom was abolished doesn't mean it didn't happen on a large scale. 81 Percent of Russia's total population was considered either poor or a serf. So to me it would make sense he would be poor as well. I respect you all the same please do keep your head cannon.
   I'm not trying to be rude! Please if I'm being rude I'll change my comment! I'm so sorry!

Don't feel like a bad person for writing it. I just feel sad that it actually happened. :(

russia wouldn't kill his tsar..
it was comunist party who did..don't associate ivan with comunism...
he is a country..he wouldn't kill his ruller unless it is a revolution supported by all the people.(i mean in hetalia point of view) and i don't know why i feel like ivan was very sad that comunist had killed the tsar since during comunism people didn't live so good
sorry for my bad english..(grammar is deaD X_X) i felt like telling this because i find it totally wrong for ivan killing the royal family

Yakov Sverdlov was a chairman of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, so formally he was the head of state of the Russian SFSR from shortly after the October Revolution until the time of his death (he was only 34); Yekaterinburg, the city where Romanovs were killed, was later named Sverdlovsk. He was a great organizer; f he had stayed alive maybe Stalin would never come to power

poor children. :(

Though you said the bullet ricocheted off Anastasia's corset. It was almost like Russia couldn't shoot her for a second and missed. Still so sad :tears:

Actually, I heard they found the burned remains and did a DNA test on the bones, confirmed it was her. So I do believe they proved she died, just not with the rest of the family. Thus the conspiracy.

Obviously, Jewels > Bullets. I would have just guessed that he was a lousy shot. (I mean look at it, it barely grazed her side and she wasn't even moving.) And she can still speak? She truely is a wonderwoman. Not even getting hit by bullets can phase her.

Actually... I don't think that ALL of the family were killed... But then again... Who knows?

The reason i say that is bacause: Remember Anna Anderson? you know... the woman who called herself Anastasia? Well they said that Olga inspected her and proved that Anna Anderson was NOT Anastasia...

But of course i'm not 100% sure what happened down in that basement...

You can see the Pic of Anna Anderson here [link]

Just in case you didn't see her pic yet

No, they were definitely all killed. For a time there were numerous rumors that some had escaped murder, but now it's pretty much an established fact that none of them survived. (Here's an eyewitness account of the killing [link])

And yeah, there were some people claiming to be Anastasia at the time. It wasn't until 1994 that Anna Anderson was actually proven to be Franziska Schanzkowska through DNA testing done on a sample of her intestines (preserved after a surgery she had undergone). [link]

Yeah, it really is a sad story. D:> I get teary when I read about it.

Oh yeah, can I have your opinion on this? I did some sketches for this idea, but I wasn't sure about it. :P What do you think about an alternative comic where Anastasia is her actual age (17), and is (kind of) paired up with Ivan? O: I tossed the idea around, but I wasn't sure about it. I'm not used to writing romance-y things... xD;;

Great comic :D Though if I can recall, Alexei had to be shot a couple more times because he was still alive. Also they didn't discover the jewels till after they stabbed them.

Sorry. Spent two years cramming Russian history into my head ^^;

Yeah, I've heard several versions where some of them were shot or stabbed or clubbed several more times because they were still alive. I just kind of had to go with what would work best in comic-form. xD;;
