Me and my mom used to do these all the time, so we picked it up again on a whim today. :3 This is called Pysanka; a type of egg art that I'm pretty sure is Russian.

Basically, you take a white chicken egg, pump out the insides, & let it dry for two weeks. Then you sketch on a design and cover all the white parts of the design with wax. You then dye it different colors, adding wax to keep desired colors as you add more layers (for example, after I dyed it yellow, I'd add wax over Misa and Mello's hair to keep those parts yellow and then dye a different color over the remaining parts). After the egg has been covered in black-ish wax, you melt all of it off to reveal the colors underneath. After that, you add two layers of varnish to make it all shiny. :3 Think of it as fancy easter eggs.

I was so happy with how they turned out, too, except that I realized that I had written Near's "N" backwards. DX Gomenasai!
