Why are Swedish people so darn good at singing? I: IT'S NOT FAIR /SOB

So I was going to use this space for complaining, like the jaded, cynical misanthrope that I am, about people who are way too dependent on other people. And about how I can't wait until they get screwed over in the real world.

But instead, I'd like to make a brief comment on anime where the cynical character becomes more caring and happy through the intensively persistent friendship/love of a naive, clingy character: IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. :\ Why? Because cynical people tend to hate society even more when they come across such people.

Just like in a relationship where a guy persists after a girl that clearly does not like him, constant devotion does not equal a softening of the heart.

It is blatantly over-romanticized and unrealistic.

And now, the appropriate reaction to this boils down to three choices:
<sub>1. SHE PROBABLY HATES HERSELF
2. SHE IS PROBABLY AN UNHAPPY PERSON
3. ALL OF THE ABOVE</sub>

All of which are false, SO HA, THE JOKE'S ON YOU.


...In other news, I've accepted the possibility that I may never be married. Which is kind of sad to me, because I hadn't planned on being lonely for the rest of my life. OTL

But seeing as how my choices have been severely limited (not the least by the fact that asexual partners are hard to find), I've already started to consider that I may have to get a good-paying job that I could possibly hate in order to support myself. Also, I may have to let go of my dreams of adoption, although I won't give that up easily.

It's a little frustrating identifying as having no or severely limited sexual desire for either gender, because we get very little representation in the media and are misunderstood just as much (if not more) than homosexual people. And we certainly aren't as well-known as homosexuals.

That being said, it was kind of a relief when I finally realized what to identify with (a similar feeling to when I figured out that I was atheist). |D Finally, an an explanation for how awkward and uncaring I've felt about sex for all these years. Not to mention all of my "incredibly ace moments" I've racked up...

Maybe next time, I'll actually tell an interesting story about the girl in my piano class who constantly tells me about her sex life and how much she makes me want to commit suicide. _{ITALUV GAINED +4 CYNICISM!}
